Walking Alongside Families Since 2004
Footprints Behavioral Interventions was founded with a deeply held belief: families should not have to navigate difficult seasons, important decisions, and meaningful change alone.
Our founders began working in applied behavior analysis in 1997 and established Footprints in 2004. Since then, we have grown alongside the families and communities we serve while remaining grounded in the same purpose: to listen, recognize each person's strengths, and provide thoughtful support that makes everyday life more manageable and meaningful.
Today, Footprints provides compassionate, evidence-based ABA services across communities in California, Oregon, Washington, and Michigan. Every person's path is different, so we tailor services around individual strengths, communication, support needs, family priorities, and the environments where life happens.
We celebrate progress in all its forms, from a first meaningful connection to greater confidence, safety, independence, and participation in daily life. Through challenges and breakthroughs, we remain committed to walking alongside families every step of the way.
What Guides Us
We Listen First
Families know their children in ways no assessment can fully capture. We take time to understand each person's strengths, communication, interests, support needs, culture, routines, and priorities before deciding what meaningful progress should look like.
We Individualize Care
ABA is not one-size-fits-all. Assessment findings and treatment data help guide our work, but every recommendation is shaped around the individual and the life they are building. Goals should be useful, developmentally appropriate, and connected to everyday experiences.
We Build From Strengths
We recognize what each person can already do and build from there. Our work is designed to expand communication, confidence, participation, safety, and independence. It is not intended to erase individuality or force one right way of being.
We Practice With Compassion
Effective care begins with trust. We pay attention to communication, comfort, preferences, and engagement while creating supportive opportunities to learn. We continually adjust our approach based on how each person responds.
We Follow the Evidence
Our clinicians combine established ABA principles, thoughtful assessment, direct observation, ongoing data, professional judgment, and family input. We use this information to make responsible decisions and adapt services as needs and priorities change.
We Partner With Families
ABA services do not replace the relationships, knowledge, and guidance families provide. We work alongside parents and caregivers through shared decision-making, practical education, coaching, and encouragement, helping families feel informed, confident, and empowered in the moments that matter.
A Team That Walks With You
Meaningful care grows from strong relationships and shared understanding. At Footprints, clinicians, behavior technicians, trainers, coordinators, and support professionals work together while keeping each person and family at the center.
Care Guided by Understanding
Our clinicians take time to learn about each person's strengths, communication, interests, needs, routines, and goals. They develop individualized recommendations, monitor progress, and adjust the approach as priorities and circumstances change.
A Team Prepared to Support
Behavior technicians receive ongoing supervision, training, and feedback to help them understand each person's goals and provide consistent, compassionate support across everyday settings.
Families at the Center
Parents and caregivers bring essential knowledge about their child and family. Their experiences, priorities, questions, and observations help shape decisions and keep services relevant to daily life.
Working Together
Clinical, training, intake, scheduling, operations, and administrative teams each contribute to the family's experience. By communicating and addressing challenges together, we help families understand what comes next and feel supported throughout the process.
Progress That Matters
We see the whole person, not only a diagnosis, challenge, or set of data. Together with families, we focus on meaningful progress in communication, confidence, safety, participation, and independence.
We are with you every step of the way.
Your Family's Next Step
Whether you are exploring ABA for the first time, looking for a new provider, or trying to understand what support may be available, you are welcome to begin with a conversation.
Our intake team will listen, learn about your family's needs, and help you understand our services, current availability, and the next steps for exploring insurance or funding.
We are here to help make the path forward feel clearer, one step at a time.
